Gingerbread Eggnog Martini
Get into the holiday spirit with our Gingerbread Eggnog Martini. This Christmas cocktail combines the flavors of eggnog, RumChata, Frangelico, and gingerbread in one amazing drink.
Gingerbread Eggnog Martini Recipe
Festive cocktails are one of my favorite things about the holidays. I love a cup of homemade eggnog or a gingerbread martini.
Our eggnog martini is also a favorite. This year, I’m pairing the gingerbread and the eggnog to make a gingerbread eggnog martini.
This dessert cocktail is sweet, slightly thick, and tastes like gingerbread cookies and eggnog all rolled into one. It’s made using your favorite store-bought eggnog, Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, RumChata cream liqueur, and gingerbread simple syrup.
If you’re looking for another holiday cocktail, we have several tasty options. One of my favorite Christmas cocktails uses Chambord black raspberry liqueur and Prosecco. It’s our Chambord and Prosecco drink, and it’s lightly sweetened, bubbly, and elegant!
If you prefer frozen, tropical drinks, you’ll want to try our White Christmas Margarita. It’s filled with the flavors of coconut, lime, and tequila all blended into a slushy, white drink.
Or, maybe try something more traditional like a tart Vodka Cranberry (Cape Cod). It’s made with cranberry juice, vodka, lime juice, and optional simple syrup for sweetness.
Gingerbread Eggnog Martini Variations
- Garnishes: Add a dollop of whipped cream, a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg, a drizzle of caramel, a cinnamon stick, or a cute gingerbread cookie as a garnish. We love a sweet cinnamon sugar rim!
- Simple Syrup: Use as much or as little gingerbread simple syrup as you like.
- Alcohol Variations: Change up the type of alcohol used. Kahlúa, flavored vodka, bourbon, Disaronno (amaretto liqueur), or Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur are other alcohol options that would be great to try.
Storage
No need to store a gingerbread eggnog martini. It’s meant to be enjoyed immediately.
However, you can make the gingerbread syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 1 month.
Gingerbread Eggnog Martini Tips
- Simple Syrup: The gingerbread simple syrup has a wonderful flavor, but it’s strong. Start with less and add more if needed.
- Eggnog: Since we’re adding alcohol to this recipe, opt for alcohol-free eggnog. That way the flavors won’t clash and the martini won’t be too boozy.
- Variety of Alcohol: Only use 1-2 types of alcohol or liqueur. Any more than that will begin to get overwhelming and the flavors won’t mix.

For the Gingerbread Simple Syrup
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons unsulphured molasses
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
For the Cinnamon Sugar Rim
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Martini
- 2 ounces eggnog
- 1 ounce RumChata
- 1 ounce Frangelico
- ½ to 1 ounce gingerbread simple syrup, or to taste
Optional Garnish
- Dash cinnamon or nutmeg
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- Whipped cream
Instructions
To Make the Simple Syrup
- In a medium saucepan, combine the ingredients for the simple syrup.½ cup water½ cup dark brown sugar1 to 2 tablespoons unsulphured molasses1 teaspoon ground ginger½ teaspoon ground cinnamon¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a simmer for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Cool completely before using.
To Make the Cinnamon Sugar Rim
- Pour the maple syrup onto a shallow dish. Dip the rim of a martini glass into the syrup.1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a separate dish. Dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar, and chill the glass in the fridge until ready to use.2 tablespoons light brown sugar¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
To Make the Martini
- Pour the eggnog, RumChata, Frangelico, and simple syrup into a drink shaker. Gently swirl or shake until mixed. Strain into the chilled cocktail glass.2 ounces eggnog1 ounce RumChata1 ounce Frangelico½ to 1 ounce gingerbread simple syrup
