Buffalo Chicken Dip
Spice up your party with our buffalo chicken dip, made with rotisserie chicken, hot sauce, and creamy cheese. It’s great for game days or family movie nights!
Buffalo chicken dip is a go-to party favorite that never disappoints. I make it all the time for game days and movie nights, and it’s always the first thing to disappear.
It’s creamy, cheesy, and has just the right amount of heat from the buffalo sauce. If you like a little spice, this one’s for you. Think of the tangy flavor of buffalo chicken wings but in a rich, scoopable dip.

Tips for the Best Buffalo Chicken Dip
- Use freshly shredded cheese instead of pre-shredded. It melts better and has a smoother consistency.
- Adjust the spice level by using mild buffalo sauce or adding extra hot sauce if you want more heat. We love Frank’s RedHot, but use your favorite.
- Make it ahead of time by prepping the dip in advance and storing it in the fridge. Just bake it when you’re ready to serve.
Substitutions and Variations
- Greek Yogurt instead of Sour Cream: If you want a lighter option, plain Greek yogurt works well. This swap will change the flavor slightly.
- Blue Cheese Dressing instead of Ranch: Great if you’re looking for a classic wing flavor combo.
- Chicken Options: I love to use pre-shredded rotisserie chicken from the store. It’s a wonderful timesaver. If preferred, season and cook chicken at home instead of using store-bought.
How to Serve It
This dip pairs well with a variety of dippers. Here are some ideas:
- Tortilla chips or pita chips.
- Celery and carrot sticks.
- Crackers or pretzel crisps.
- Sliced baguette or toasted bread.
Storing and Reheating
Refrigerator: If you have leftovers (which isn’t likely), store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through, or microwave in short intervals, stirring between each, until heated evenly.
