Easy Blue Smurf Drink Recipe

Looking for another fun and refreshing drink to enjoy this summer? This Electric Smurf is about to be your new favorite cocktail!

This drink takes just 5 minutes and is the perfect blend of all of your favorite tropical flavors. Oh, and it’s a total crowd pleaser, not only because of its amazing flavor, but also its bright blue color!

Tips and Notes

  • Serve immediately. Once you pour the drink over ice, it is best served right away. Otherwise, the ice will start to melt and you’ll dilute the delicious flavor.
  • To keep your drink cooler for longer, stick your serving glass in the freezer before pouring in the cocktail.
  • Make it extra boozy by swapping some of the pineapple juice out for pineapple rum!
  • Want a frozen drink? Simply blend it with some ice.
  • Serving a crowd? Make a bigger batch by multiplying all of the ingredient amounts by two, three, flour, five, you name it. Simply combine everything in a pitcher without the ice and store in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

Blue Curaçao! This orange-flavored liqueur is dyed bright blue using food coloring. It’s also what gives the electric smurf its vibrant blue color.

Malibu rum is a classic coconut-flavored liqueur that can be used in so many different cocktails! Here are a few more recipes you can make that include everyone’s favorite rum:

What is a Smurf Drink Made Of?

  • Ice: You’ll need just enough ice to fill your serving glass.
  • Coconut Rum: Malibu is probably the most popular coconut rum to use, but feel free to use another variety if that’s what you prefer.
  • Pineapple Juice: You’ll need just 2 ounces of pineapple juice.
  • Lemon Lime Soda: Whatever lemon lime soda you like best will work. Try Sprite, Sierra Mist, 7UP, you name it.
  • Blue Curaçao: Blue Curaçao is an orange flavored liqueur.
  • Garnishes: I like to garnish my serving glass with maraschino cherries and pineapple wedges.
