Tips for the Perfect Iced Coffee

Tips

Coffee Cubes: Freeze leftover coffee in an ice cube tray to use in your iced coffee. This prevents the drink from becoming diluted as the ice melts.

Sweetness Level: Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to your preference. Start with a tablespoon and add more if you like your coffee sweeter.

Customization: Feel free to add other flavors like caramel or hazelnut syrup for different variations. You can also use different types of milk or dairy alternatives such as almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk.

Mix-ins: For a little something “extra,” top your iced coffee with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Prepping Ahead: Make a larger batch of the coffee base and store it in the fridge for a quick and easy iced coffee fix throughout the week.

Storage

If you’d like to prepare the coffee base ahead of time, simply mix the chilled coffee, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla syrup.

Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

When you’re ready to enjoy, shake it up with ice, pour over coffee cubes, and add your choice of dairy.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Yes, you can! Sweetened condensed milk adds sweetness and creaminess, but you can substitute it with regular milk or any dairy alternative. Just adjust the sweetness by adding sugar or your preferred sweetener.

Cold brew coffee or a strong brew works best for iced coffee. The stronger the coffee, the better it will hold up to the ice and any added milk or syrups.

Absolutely! If you don’t have a drink shaker, you can use a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Just add the ingredients, cover, and shake well.

Regular ice cubes will work just fine. However, keep in mind that as they melt, they will dilute the coffee flavor. Coffee cubes are a great way to avoid this.

If you prefer your iced coffee less sweet, start with a smaller amount of sweetened condensed milk and adjust to taste. You can also omit the vanilla coffee syrup.
