Preheat the oven to 400°F, and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place both halves of bread on the baking sheet. Set aside.
14 ounce French loaf
In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and onion powder. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both bread halves.
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 ½ tablespoons garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons parsley, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon onion powder
Sprinkle the shredded cheese, dried parsley, and smoked paprika over each piece of bread.
1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon dried parsley, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted. To brown the cheese, place the bread in the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes.
Enjoy warm, and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
