In a small saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
1 cup water, 1 cup granulated sugar, 5 to 6 cinnamon sticks
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the cinnamon to infuse the syrup.
Remove from heat and let the syrup cool. Remove the cinnamon sticks and transfer the syrup to a jar or bottle.
