Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt, then place the glass in the refrigerator to chill while preparing the cocktail.
Lime wedge, Coarse salt
Place a handful of ice into a cocktail shaker. Add the ingredients, seal the lid, and shake vigorously to combine.
Place ice in the glass before pouring in the margarita.
Garnish with lime wheels and serve immediately.
Notes
*The calories listed are an approximation based on the ingredients in the recipe card and a serving size of 1 coffee margarita. Actual calories will vary.*The prep time does not take into account the time it takes to make the simple syrup. It's assumed that the simple syrup is already made or purchased.*For simple syrup: Use a 1:1 ratio of granulated sugar and water. While stirring, heat over low-medium until the sugar dissolves. I usually use 1 cup of sugar + 1 cup of water and save the leftover syrup for other drinks and cocktails.
