In a medium saucepan, whisk together the water, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt.

Bring to a boil, then add the oats. Reduce to a low simmer.
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Stir occasionally, and add ¾ cup of strawberries to the oatmeal a couple of minutes before it finishes cooking.
1 ½ cups fresh strawberries
Cook until the desired consistency is reached, then divide the oatmeal between two bowls.
Top with the remaining fresh ¾ cup of strawberries and a drizzle of heavy cream.
2 tablespoons heavy cream
